Welcome to the home of the Saltwater Series Tournament Trail sponsored by Cabela’s and powered by Majek Boats and Evinrude ETEC. We asked inshore tournament anglers what they were looking for in a fishing tournament. With the information we gathered, we created the Saltwater Series Tournament Trail. Throughout the history of the series, amateur anglers have won many events including Team of the Year. This is the perfect tournament for the weekend warrior to show what they can do.
The Saltwater Series tournament trail is owned and operated by Simrod Outdoors and was created by Jim Elrod and Scot Simmons.
Scot and Jim have fished tournaments since 1999. They have polled fishermen for eight years now asking what they are looking for in an inshore tournament. The response was low entry fees, wadefishing, and more dates to fish. The original Texas Redfish Tournament Series was designed from the feedback. Since 2004, the company has expanded from a small series, to a full blown outdoor production company.
Simrod Outdoors produces the Redfish Series and RAA Tour tournament trails. In addition, the company produces the Majek Owner’s Tournament and the Saltwater Series Television show on FSN Southwest.
